Abstract - This work’s objective was to study the floristic composition, phytossociology and diametric growth in dense ombrophilous forest. The research was conducted in Forest Management Area (FMA) of the Development’s Sustainable Project Virola-Jatobá, located in the municipality of Anapu, Pará. The study area corresponded to 1.25 ha, in those who were installed randomly five installments permanent (0,25 ha each) and lately botanically measured and identified the individuals divided by categories (trees, saplings, sticks, seedlings). Between the categories was recorded 935 individuals distributed in 37 families, and 139 species. The Fabaceae Family presented the biggest variety in all other categories studied, and stand Vouacapoua americana with the biggest number of individuals in all the level. The rates of diversity of Shannon –Wiener (H’) for trees, saplings, sticks, seedlings was of 3.91 nats.ind.-¹, 3.50 nats.ind.-¹ and e 3.21 nats.ind.-¹, respectively. The diametric distribution in tree’s levels followed the pattern in inverted “J”, with similar trend for the categories of saplings and sticks, this indicates that the area, until the moment, didn’t suffer disturbances. The periodic annual increment in diameter demonstrated that the trees showed growth rate high, with average of 0.44 cm.year-¹.
