Abstract

Describe drug use in adolescence and the effects of drugs on young people's lives, associate drug use with neurological problems, report the role of the nursing team in preventing health problems from occurring, discuss the role of the family in life of this young man. It was a descriptive study with bibliographic review that had as databases SciELO, Virtual Library, Academic Google, LILACS, PubMed and Ministry of Health using articles published between 2000 and 2021, with the descriptors: Drugs and adolescence; Nursing team; Public health. A total of 30 articles were analyzed, where 21 were chosen because they were related to the theme, and the inclusion criteria were related to the theme, free publications, descriptors used, consistency with the theme. Adolescence is the stage of maturation where young people begin to know the diversity of the world, thus being introduced into a society where they begin to know the risks and benefits of their own choices, according to this new journey they end up arousing a curiosity for the unknown things whether they are good or not, that's how the use of legal and illegal substances begins, sex without proper protection, crimes. In this context, it is up to the nurse to play the main role in the promotion and protection of these young people, reporting the reality of drug use and participating in the recovery of those who are already using it, always seeking to guide families in the community to be aware of what happens within the family. , carry out campaigns on the subject, lectures in schools.
