Abstract

Pregnancy is a phase in which all aspects of a woman's life change, both socially and physiologically, bringing risks both for her and for the developing baby, prenatal consultations become important. Guide pregnant women in consultations, and identify possible pathologies early. An integrative review, carried out by research on official platforms such as Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (Lilacs) and Virtual Health Library (BVS), the inclusion criteria were periodic in databases of national and international data, published between 2017 and 2022, the exclusion criteria were journals published before 2017 and that deviated from the proposed theme, a total of 20 publications were analyzed, of which 10 fit the search, the bibliographic survey was carried out between August and November. There are advantages and disadvantages that can affect the pregnant woman, positive advantages when there is correct prenatal care, such as birth at the right time, with adequate weight and size, and disadvantages, such as prematurity, development of diseases, when there is no such monitoring. or when it is not followed correctly. Nursing is important in prenatal consultations, especially in cases of high-risk pregnancies, always aiming to pass on the risks to pregnant women, showing the need for a professional prepared to follow a consultation with excellence.
