This bibliographic review addressed literacy in multicultural and multilingual contexts, focusing on the challenges and opportunities these contexts present for literacy practices, as well as investigating the influence of cultures and languages and discussing effective literacy promotion strategies. The general objective was to explore how different cultures and languages influence literacy practices and contribute to the construction of literary identities, in addition to identifying teaching methodologies that facilitate literacy in diverse environments. The methodology consisted of a literature review, examining relevant academic studies to understand the dynamics of literacy in such contexts. The results indicated that, despite challenges such as linguistic and cultural barriers, there are significant opportunities for cultural and linguistic enrichment and the development of intercultural competencies. The final considerations emphasized the need for inclusive and adapted pedagogical practices, as well as the use of educational technologies to support diversified literacy, promoting educational inclusion and equity.
