Candidiasis in pregnancy

Candidiasis is an infection caused by fungi and the most present and frequent is Candida Albicans, which affects hundreds of women annually. Despite being a fungus naturally present in the body without causing any type of infection, there may be an imbalance that worsens the situation, causing symptoms and discomfort in the place where it proliferates. To present how vulvovaginal candidiasis as an important problem in women's health, is the need to understand the pathology, as well as the safety or risks of drugs used to treat it in the gestational period. This is descriptive research with a quantitative approach, through the application of a questionnaire via Google Forms, with institutional authorization, aiming to analyze the number of women who had candidiasis during pregnancy. The research was carried out with 200 women, remaining 180 women in the research, as 20 responses were excluded for not meeting the needs of the study, it is noteworthy that the age group of women was from 15 to 40 years. It was possible to identify that among women who present symptoms of candidiasis, an average of 68% seeks a basic health unit for care. Final Candidiasis is an infectious disease that affects both men and women, however, women are the ones who develop the infection the most, it was found that despite women having a basic notion of what candidiasis is, an even greater awareness of this public is needed. for its long-term effects.
