This article aims to analyze human rights violations and socio-environmental conflicts in the Amazon, discussing the essential role of environmental education in promoting social justice in the region. To achieve this objective, a literature review and critical analysis of existing studies on the subject were conducted. The Amazon, known for its biodiversity and rich natural resources, faces serious challenges related to the illegal exploitation of resources such as timber and minerals, indiscriminate deforestation, and territorial conflicts, which lead to ongoing human rights violations. In this context, environmental education emerges as a crucial tool to address these issues and promote social justice. Raising awareness, empowering, and mobilizing local communities through environmental education programs are fundamental to defending human rights and pursuing sustainable solutions. By promoting inclusive and comprehensive environmental education, it is possible to strengthen civic participation, encourage sustainable practices, and achieve a balance between socioeconomic development and environmental preservation. In conclusion, human rights violations and socio-environmental conflicts in the Amazon require an integrated and urgent approach in which environmental education plays a vital role. By enhancing awareness and engagement within local communities, environmental education significantly contributes to protecting human rights and building a more just and equitable future for the Amazon region.
